About the Author

Celestino Piana O.F.M. (1911-1992)

Italian Franciscan from Bologna, who wrote extensively on the city’s medieval University. Collaborator in publishing the early volumes of Scotus (1938-1943), he joined the Collegio S. Bonaventura at Quaracchi, where until 1950 he worked on the editions of Bernardine of Siena, Alexander of Hales and Matthew of Aquasparta.

Cesare Cenci O.F.M. (1925-2010)

Italian Franciscan scholar from Verona. From 1959 until his death a member of the Collegio S. Bonaventura at Quaracchi, Grottaferrata and Rome, collaborating in the editions of Bernardine of Siena, Bullarium Franciscanum, numerous Franciscan manuscripts, and (with Romain Mailleux O.F.M.) the early General Constitutions of the Order.
