About the Author

John of La Rochelle (1200 ca.-1245)

He was the friar who succeeded Alexander of Hales as master at the Franciscan studium in Paris, with Bonaventure among his students. A major contributor to the Summa fratris Alexandri, he also wrote commentaries on Scripture and the Franciscan Rule, as well as several theological works.
