About the Author

James of Milan (13th c.)

A lector of theology in the second half of the 13th century he was a lecturer in the Franciscan study-center in Milan, likely continuing his teaching at a similar school in Domodossola by 1305. His important extant work, The Goad of Love, long attributed to Bonaventure, was translated into Middle English, perhaps by Walter Hilton.
