About the Author

Thomas of Pavia (ca. 1212 - ca. 1280)

A friar who taught theology at Ferrara (1253), served as Minister Provincial of Tuscany (1258-78), and authored a lengthy history of the Roman emperors and popes (to 1279). He also produced a large collection of Distinctions, and to him is attributed the Dialogue on the deeds of holy Friars Minor.
